Commercial property is likely to make a comeback in the next year as an investment asset, it has been predicted.
Manager of the Ignis UK Property Fund George Shaw said the sector is likely to offer a good stock investment as the value of commercial property is set to improve in the next couple of years.
He stated: "Portfolios with a high, stable and secure income stream are likely to outperform over the next two to three years, which is a benefit commercial property as an asset class can offer."
The firm noted that the decline in the value of such real estate has slowed significantly of late.
An increase in investment in commercial property as the sector picks up could see increased demand for solicitors specialising in commercial property law.
Firms hiring commercial property need to be "flexible" when taking on leases, in order to be able to deal with whatever economic situation emerges in the coming months, Dan Hodges of public-private partnership facilitators GVA Grimley said last month.
