27/03/2009 Corrie star in quickie divorce |
|
Actress Kym Marsh and husband Jack Ryder have been divorced, it has been announced. The couple were granted a decree nici at the High Court in London yesterday after the Coronation Street star admitted adultery. Neither party attended the brief hearing, which comes after Ms Marsh and Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas announced they were getting engaged in December last year. Those facing divorce proceedings themselves may wish to take legal advice to ensure the process is as well managed as possible and that any settlement is favourable, particularly if a divorce is protracted. Recently actor John Cleese enjoyed a successful legal appeal against the size of his divorce settlement to American ex-wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger, which led to his payment being halved after the credit crunch hit his financial interests. A similar action was recently launched in the UK by City fund manager Bryan Myerson after his wealth was reduced by falling share prices.
