20/04/2009 Mills in new complaint over divorce |
|
Former wife of Sir Paul McCartney Heather Mills has spoken out against the size of the divorce settlement she received.
Ms Mills, who was speaking at a vegetarian charity event, complained that the £24 million she received at the end of the five-year marriage was less than she deserved.
She remarked: "I got five per cent of what we earned together in seven years. And we earned it together, I worked my butt off doing the tours and everything."
The comments follow an acrimonious divorce between the pair in which Ms Mills suffered widespread unpopularity, a situation she referred to by claiming everyone believes her to be "nuts" because of her outspokenness.
Those who are facing a difficult divorce situation may wish to take legal advice to ensure it is handled as well as possible.
A more recent celebrity divorce came last month when it was revealed that actress Davinia Taylor and husband David Gardner were to split.
