British Airways is challenging the legality of the strike ballot that is set to see cabin crew go on a 12-day strike over Christmas.
The airline has applied for a high court injunction aiming at blocking the industrial action over the festive period, with a key claim being that many of the Unite union members who took part in the ballot no longer worked for the airline.
Its action follows a vote in which over 92 per cent of eligible members opted for the industrial action in a dispute over staffing issues.
While those who are in trade unions may be involved in strike actions over issues such as pay and working conditions, those who are not may find the best way to resolve work-related problems is to act through employment lawyers in London.
Unite has claimed the disruption its strike will cause to passengers is the fault of the airline's management, claiming it "prefers imposition and confrontation, or even litigation, to negotiation".
