24/11/2009 Constructive dismissal case hears of 'humiliation' |
|
A constructive dismissal case in London has heard that a female hedge fund employee was hounded out of her job by a boss who discriminated against and humiliated her.
The tribunal was told that Nomos Capital head Mark Lowe forced Ms Jordan Wimmer out of her post at the firm and that he was frequently prone to unreasonable behaviour.
She stated that this included bringing call girls to business functions.
The tribunal also heard from a former female intern that in an email conversation with Mr Lowe - a classics scholar - he sent her a message whose translation was obscene.
Those faced with a situation that forces them out of their work in a post in the capital may wish to speak to employment lawyers in London about what action they can take.
Last week, the government produced a new guide to dealing with workplace harassment, drawn up in partnership with employers and unions.
