21/09/2009 Employees 'should be offered flexibility' |
|
Flexibility is the key to the way many people work and it is vital that employers accommodate this, it has been stated.
Editor of mums portal babyworld.co.uk Debbie Bird stated that those who allow workers such as those with children to be flexible will reap the benefits.
She stated: "Company employers need to remember that actions they take now that affect their employees will be remembered."
This flexibility will include job shares and working from home, Ms Bird noted.
Some employees living in the capital may find they have been forced out of their jobs by a change in working practices.
Those in such a situation may wish to see employment lawyers in London to establish if they have any legal redress on this point.
Flexible working has been pinpointed as vital to employment in the UK, a new poll has revealed.
The survey by pressure group Keep Britain Working has found that 78 per cent believe Britain's greater employee flexibility is a major reason for its unemployment rate being below the G7 average.
