A landmark court case may have major implications for employment law after it was found that a council chief executive did not deliberately mislead her employers over her mental health.
Cheltenham borough council attempted to sue former boss Christine Laird - who was off sick with depression from 2005 - because she did not reveal a history of problems before she joined the body.
However, the high court judgement was that she had not given an inaccurate answer to the question posed.
The judgement may have implications for employment law concerning the recruitment of those who have had mental health issues in the past, including the issue of whether this should have to be disclosed before a job is offered.

Another recent legal case saw the Law Lords rule that those who have been on long-term sick leave are entitled to holiday pay.
