A tribunal is to decide on an appeal against a suspension from office of four London-based trade union officials on the grounds of race discrimination.
The group were banned by Unison last month after claims that a leaflet they produced concerning a union dispute showing the proverbial three wise monkeys that "hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil" had a racial connotation - a charge denied by the suspended officials.
Those affected at work by a similar claim and believe it is unfair may wish to speak to employment lawyers in London.
Earlier this month a local newspaper in the capital claimed to have found genuine evidence of discrimination based on race and age.
The Enfield Advertiser posed as a window cleaning company and contacted employment agencies asking for temps, requesting that these be aged under 40 and not from ethnic minorities.
It stated that 64 per cent of the agencies were agreeable to the age-based request and 54 per cent were willing to comply with the request to only supply whites.
