20/03/2009 Redundancy roadshow set to be held |
|
A redundancy roadshow is to be held in the Norfolk Town of King's Lynn for those who have lost their jobs or could face the prospect in the near future.
The show has been set up to provide advice and help with training and job-searching techniques for those dealing with the issue during the recession, the Lynn News reports.
Event co-ordinator Sharon Carter told the news source: "The big message this event hopes to put across is that despite the doom and gloom losing employment brings there is help and advice available and the future will brighten up before long."
While the roadshow may provide one source of help, those seeking redress concerning redundancy issues may wish to seek legal advice on the subject.
Among the sectors of the UK economy making people redundant is the media, with the BBC revealing this week that it has to trim its budget by £400 million over the next three years, its director general Mark Thompson has admitted.
