Businesses 'fail to educate employees' about online shopping dangers |

A new survey has found that organisations do not teach their staff about the dangers of shopping online in the workplace.
In a UK survey of International Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) members, 82 per cent said their organisation either does not have a policy that prohibits employees from using work computers to shop online, or they are not aware of a policy in the staff handbook.
Paul Williams, a former international president of ISACA, said that there are literally millions of sites infected with malware.
"If someone just clicks on a link in an email, they are compromising the security of their PC and potentially the security of the whole organisation," he adds.
Around 32 per cent of companies that permit online shopping educate their staff about the dangers, while 31 per cent of organisations prohibit employees from using a work email for online shopping or other online non-work related activities. |
