Man pleads guilty to perjury in divorce case
A note of caution was urged to anyone that is keen to get a "quickie" divorce after a man believed to be a former accountant was found guilty of committing perjury, having lied to a court in a bid to end his marriage.

Ronald Nelson met his Russian bride through an internet dating website and married her two years later when she had settled in the UK.

When the marriage turned sour after just seven months the couple split up and Mr Nelson appeared before a judge to give evidence in divorce proceedings against his wife.

Having listened to Mr Nelson's evidence, his Honour Judge Bullock issued a decree absolute in April which served to annul the marriage.

Mr Nelson was brought to the attention of the police when, less than a month after his court case, his "former" wife also initiated her own divorce proceedings via her solicitors.

She was no doubt shocked to learn from her legal team that Mr Nelson had already filed for annulment without her knowledge, the Birmingham Post reported.

Nelson was arrested last year and pleaded guilty yesterday (July 21st) to perjury at Newcastle Crown Court. He was given a six month suspended prison sentence.ADNFCR-1805-ID-18695444-ADNFCR
