A prenuptial agreement between model Jordan and singer Peter Andre may come into effect after the couple announced the break-up of their marriage yesterday.
The pair, who married in 2005, revealed via a spokesperson that they are to go their separate ways.
Before the wedding, the pair signed a prenuptial agreement and family law expert Renato Labi told the Daily Express this is likely to be upheld in any court of law, even though it is "not binding" in an English court.
He added: "If both parties had separate legal advice, gave disclosure of their financial circumstances and if the provisions of the prenup are fair, then the court is likely to uphold it."
Those considering a prenuptial agreement before entering marriage may wish to see a solicitor about the subject first.
Jordan, also known by her real name Katie Price, is famous for her modelling, children's books and once standing for parliament, when she was a candidate at Stretford and Urmston in the 2001 general election.
