24/07/2009 Bank report reveals positives |

The mortgage market is starting to show more positive trends, a report by the Bank of England has concluded.
In its latest agents' summary, the Bank found that professionals in the housing sector have observed an upturn in a number of indicators.
These included "enquiries, offers and completed transactions - albeit from a low base", it stated.
Another finding was that first-time buyer activity has shown some signs of rising, although there was also concern expressed over the extent to which the supply of mortgage finance is improving.
Those keen on taking out a mortgage now may wish to speak to a property lawyer.
Another report from the Bank of England suggesting things are moving in the right direction was its latest Trends in Lending survey, out earlier this month.
It found evidence from the views provided by banks and building societies to suggest that "mortgage lending for house purchase may continue to strengthen in coming months".
