21/01/2009 Buy now, expert advises |
|
An industry specialist has said that the current property market represents the perfect opportunity for buyers. David Amstell, founder of property marketing website Briffy.com, suggests that the market is ripe for plucking no matter whether you are a first-time buyer, someone looking to upsize or a mover who is buying because of a job change. "It's an excellent time to buy, full stop. Big, small or otherwise. If you haven't bought yet then it's a good time to buy," he says. Mr Amstel believes that the only hurdle that may be faced is by buyers moving up the ladder who still have a property to sell, but he states that by putting it on the market at a "keen price", sellers should vastly improve their chances. Financially, it is now easier to trade up from a one-bedroom house to a two-bedroom house, according to Propertyfinder.com, as the average margin between the two types of dwelling was £31,000 in December 2008 - down from £41,500 in December 2007.
