Conveyancing experts predict more mortgages in 2010
Experts in the field of conveyancing believe there will be an increase in mortgage activity during the first quarter of 2010.

Paragon Mortgages' Financial Adviser Confidence Tracker (FACT) Index has shown that brokers expect to see 7.1 per cent more business during this period than during the final three months of 2009 as investors seek to return to the property market.

Some 58 per cent of brokers said they believe they will organise more mortgages this quarter, while 34 per cent said they thought their activity levels will remain the same.

John Heron of Paragon Mortgages said that house prices seem to have turned a corner since the end of the recession, resulting in a flurry of house purchasing activity.

"We are encouraged by improvement in the broker community's projections for future business and we hope that it continues throughout the rest of the year," he added.

Meanwhile, research from the same organisation earlier this month showed that ten per cent of landlords intend to seek the advice of a conveyancing lawyer with a view to increasing their portfolio during the first quarter of 2010.
