Those considering selling a city centre apartment should look to do so soon, it has been suggested.
Director of real estate advisory firm DTZ Residential Russell Taylor said that the market in provincial city centres has been saturated with new build properties and this is one segment of the market not likely to recover soon.
He stated: "Areas of oversupply, such as regional city centres, will be the ones that will see prices fall and buyers in these areas should be prepared to accept offers."
Those looking to sell up may seek to take on legal advice to ensure the process runs smoothly.
Recent months have seen an increase in houses for sale, but this is more down to an increase in sellers than buyers, Mr Taylor suggested.
The latest Hometrack figures indicated a 35.9 per cent rise in property sales agreed in February compared with January.
