|
Those wishing to let out residential property do not need to go through lettings agents to do this, investor website Briffy.com has said.
Founder of the portal David Amstell commented that advertising can be carried out through common means like using newspapers and advertising in shop windows, while overall agents do "very little" in relation to the size of fees they charge.
He stated: "As long as you have got the tenancy agreement - which you can get from the official stationers - it's not hard at all. Most tenants are quite reasonable."
Overall, the business of renting out a home is not "rocket science", Mr Amstell remarked.
Those keen to let homes this way may wish to speak to a solicitor first to ensure they have met all the legal requirements as landlords.
Findaproperty.com's latest survey, which was published last month, showed that the average monthly rental figure in the UK is £827.
