16/04/2009 London gains in housing market figures improvement |
|
London is one of the parts of the UK where the housing market is seeing the greatest rise in demand, new data has indicated.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) members' survey for March found that buyer enquiries were up for the fifth month in a row.
In March 31 per cent more surveyors reported a rise in these than a fall, compared with 21 per cent in February.
The London figure jumped more than anywhere else in the country, from 46 per cent to 63 per cent.
Potential buyers keen to purchase in the capital may wish to take legal advice on the issues and requirements involved.
Affordability is one of the factors that may have helped increase demand for homebuying in London and across the UK.
The most recent Land Registry figures, which cover February, showed that the average price in the metropolis had fallen below £300,000 to £298,563.
