18/05/2009 Now 'best time for property purchase' |
|
The best time to buy a residential property is now, an expert has stated.
Sales and marketing manager at independent property consultancy Ducalian, Timothy Lambert, commented: "Without a doubt, for those who can get credit and have a healthy deposit, now is the best time to buy property since the early 1990s."
He stated that the fall in prices is likely to continue for another six months, but now is a better time to negotiate prices downwards than will be the case when the market is on the cusp of an upturn.
Those considering the present to be a time when they would like to buy a property may wish to consult a solicitor concerning the legal issues involved.
Recent data has indicated that buyer activity in the market is growing.
Council of Mortgage Lenders figures for March, which were released this month, showed a 29 per cent increase in the number of homes loans compared to February.
