|
An increase in the number of buyers is required to ensure the apparent green shoots in the property market transform into a genuine recovery, it has been stated.
Content editor at real estate portal FindaProperty.com Michael Flynn said the underlying trend in recent months has been for the number of people registering an interest in buying to rise.
Noting that the latest Hometrack figures showed this rise to be slower in April than in revious months, he commented: "The month-on-month data can be volatile and longer underlying trends are more reliable."
However, Mr Flynn stated, transactions are still "historically" low and he remarked: "The market won't improve unless that picks up."
Those keen on buying a home at this time may wish to take advice from a solicitor on how to go about it.
Figures from the most recent Hometrack survey showed a 14.9 per cent increase in transactions in April compared with the previous month.
