Rental rates are set to rise as changes feeding through into the housing sector take effect, it has been predicted.
Head of lettings at property firm Savills Jane Ingram said the availability of rental homes is set to alter as many of those renting residences they have been unable to sell put their homes back on the market in response to the rising number of transactions.
She remarked: "The number of all properties for rent has fallen, whether it is flats or houses and this lack of stock will lead to rent increases, particularly at the lower end of the market."
Such a trend could be good news for this investing in rental homes in London or elsewhere, who may wish to consult a solicitor about the latest developments in rules for landlords.
In recent months there has been a consistent trend for rental prices to fall, with the FindaProperty.com Rental Index for April revealing that these dipped by 0.4 per cent since March.
