Creators of a Facebook game based on Scrabble who were sued for infringement of copyright and trademark have developed a new tile-based puzzle.
Rajat and Jayant Agarwalla designed Wordscraper after being forced by Hasbro - Scrabble's parent company - to remove Scrabulous from the social networking site.
Hasbro has yet to confirm whether they will be taking any further action over the new game which has a different look and feel to its predecessor.
In a statement Hasbro said they have "an obligation to protect its intellectual property and will act appropriately when necessary.
"We evaluate every situation on a case-by-case basis and have no comment regarding the Scrabulous developers' new application at this time."
Facebook took no action in the case aside from forwarding Hasbro's complaint to the Agarwalla brothers.
Previously, Facebook has banned an applicaton called "Secret Crush" after a spyware claim and have blocked applications they believed were spamming users, cnet news reported. |
