05/03/2009 Hospice urges people to make wills |
|
People should ensure they make a will before they die, a hospice in Greater Manchester has said.
Bury Hospice is urging the public to compile the documents to avoid creating a range of potential problems for the families left behind after somebody dies, the Prestwich and Whitefield Gazette reports.
The campaign is being highlighted to mark Will Week, which the hospice is holding next week in partnership with local solicitors.
People without a will who wish to make one may contact a solicitor to begin the arrangements to ensure their estate is dealt with according to their own desires.
Issues involved in a will include the disposal of money, property, other assets and the future of children and partners.
The Heart of Kent Hospice in Canterbury recently carried out a similar exercise from the middle of January, with its own Make a Will Week running from February 23rd to 27th.
