17/03/2009 Wills workshops to be staged in Dorset |
|
Workshops on how to make a will are being staged by Age Concern in Dorset.
The Dorchester branch of the charity is to hold a surgery on the subject on Friday, March 20th, the Dorset Echo reports.
In addition to this, Bridport Age Concern will be hosting a similar workshop on Tuesday 24th March.
Such moves are intended to help ensure that people do not die without having first made arrangements for the disposal of their assets, something that can lead to legal disputes.
Those wishing to make a will can seek expert advice from a law firm on how to do so.
In related news, spokesman for homelessness charity Shelter Alan Gosschalk told the BBC that legacy giving - in which people bequeath money in their wills to charities - has fallen by 30 per cent since the economic downturn began.
