Tony was admitted as a solicitor in 1973. He practised in London and Hong Kong before joining William Sturges as a partner in 1989.

Tony heads the firm's commercial property department.

Throughout his career, in private practice, in overseas government service and in the property industry, Tony has specialised in commercial property law.

Tony gave up flying some years ago having had a  private pilot's licence since 1982 and part ownership of a series of light aircraft. He was a founder member of the former Lawyers' Flying Association.

He is a lapsed full bore target rifle shooter having taken up the pursuit in his teens and continued with it through university. When time permits he intends to resume his interest in target shooting.

He is an enthusiastic but ungifted player of the classical guitar having taken up the intrument after finally giving up the trumpet he had been playing since he was seven years old.

He enjoys and has a persistent interest in language, cooking reading, films, theatre and music.

Tony has for many years deplored the continued resort to 'legalese' in documents and has advocated the use of understandable English. He takes pride in his drafting and amendment of legal documents and in the clear expression of his advice and views in correspondence with both his clients and with his fellow professionals.
