Brian joined William Sturges & Co in November 2003 as a member of the Private Client team. He deals with preparing wills, advising on trust matters, tax-planning, Court of Protection issues, such as receiverships and Lasting Powers of Attorney, and probate matters, including administering estates, dealing with Inheritance Tax and post-death tax-planning measures.
Previously Brian spent 10 years in the public service at the Official Solicitor’s Office, where he was acting Head of the Estates Division. He dealt with a variety of probate and trust matters, including administering estates on behalf of bereaved minors, managing Criminal Injuries Compensation Board trusts and guardianships, and probate work for HM Inland Revenue. He moved to private practice in 2001 and worked in the Private Client department at Amhurst Brown Colombotti before joining William Sturges & Co.
