John started his professional career as an in-house lawyer of a large commercial company. He then founded the niche commercial firm of Levinson Gray in Westminster in 1973. John joined William Sturges on the merger of the two firms in 2006 to consolidate a strong commercial department.
John has acted for all sizes of telecom companies since 1985 and seen them develop and change rapidly during this period. He has been involved in acquisitions and floats in this field.
He has acted for hotel groups which have grown by property development and business development.
He acts for privately owned commercial enterprises of all kinds including the wine industry, the arts and retailers generally.
He has particular expertise in the following areas:

Early on he developed a special interest in European law by founding and administrating the Association of Independent European Lawyers since 1991. This organisation has spread throughout the world and provides referral lawyers in all European countries and the other continents of the world. This organisation meets regularly and offers tried and tested commercial lawyers to provide services in those countries for our clients.
